Yann Ngateu / Intern
Intern
Four internships, four roles, the same curiosity.
Even before graduating, I completed four internships: network administrator at AFIB S.A, network and telecom technician at Matrix Télécoms SA, full stack developer at HDM Network ASBL, then Android mobile developer at Focus Solution. That's where, supervised by Dominique Passelecq and François Jenard, I designed and built RememberThDay, an Android app for birthday reminders and scheduled messages, through to the defense of a 33-page internship report.

In detail
01
Architecture
Room for the local database (migrations v1 to v4), AlarmManager and WorkManager for reliable notifications with automatic retry, and a BootReceiver so everything survives a phone restart.
02
Features
A custom monthly calendar, collapsible floating action buttons, scheduled sending of SMS, WhatsApp messages or notifications on the day, and an AI-based suggestion of messages and gifts.
03
Contact management
A contact import screen with automatic deduplication, and a ContactSendStatus enum to track every message sent, delivered independently over 3 months through to the final defense.
04
The road so far
Before Focus-Solutions, I completed three other internships: full stack developer at HDM Network ASBL, network technician at Matrix Télécoms, and network administrator at AFIB. A path running from networking to development, by way of mobile.
